Official Rules & Guidelines

The LiPOPUP Small Business Awards are designed to recognize and support small businesses across Long Island. By participating, all nominees and participants agree to the following:

Eligibility
Nominees must be small businesses, vendors, or entrepreneurs who actively serve the Long Island community. Businesses may be based outside of Long Island but must regularly operate, participate in events, or provide services within Nassau and Suffolk Counties. All businesses must be active and in good standing at the time of nomination.

Nominations
Participants may submit one nomination per day. Self-nominations are permitted. Each submission will count as one nomination toward the final total.

​

Nomination Period
Nominations are open through May 7, 2026. Submissions received after this date will not be counted.

​

Selection of Winners
Winners will be determined based on the total number of valid nominations received during the nomination period.

​

Fair Participation

LiPOPUP reserves the right to review all nominations and remove any that are deemed fraudulent, automated, duplicated beyond reasonable participation, or submitted in bad faith. Any attempt to manipulate the process may result in disqualification.

Business Grant Awards
Cash awards will be distributed to top winners as part of the LiPOPUP Small Business Awards.

​

1st Place will receive a $500 Business Grant Award.
2nd Place will receive a $250 Business Grant Award.

​

Business Grant Awards are intended to support the continued growth and development of the winning businesses. These awards are promotional in nature and are not affiliated with or administered by any government agency, nonprofit organization, or formal grant-making institution.

​

All cash awards are non-transferable and will be issued via certified bank check to the confirmed business owner. Recipients are responsible for any applicable taxes associated with the award.

 

Prizes

Prizes are awarded as stated and are non-transferable. Complimentary LiPOPUP event spaces are subject to event availability and must be used within the 2026 event season unless otherwise approved.

By accepting a complimentary event space, the recipient acknowledges that it applies only to new bookings and cannot be applied to, credited toward, or used in place of any previously purchased vendor space.​  Complimentary event spaces are not refundable or transferable.

​

For the Long Island Marathon, LiPOPUP does not manage or book food vendors. As such, complimentary event spaces for that event are limited to retail vendors only, as food vendor participation is not permitted through LiPOPUP.

Promotion & Use of Content
By participating, nominees grant LiPOPUP permission to feature their business name, logo, and submitted content for promotional and marketing purposes related to the awards.

​

General Conditions
LiPOPUP reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the awards at any time if necessary to ensure fairness, integrity, and proper execution of the program.
